crazyballs [May. 17th, 2007|01:14 pm]
this is an excerpt from a VERY LONG email from the food stylist on this subway sandwiches commercial i am working on. we have lovingly christened her crazyballs. sometimes when people say to me, "wow, your job sounds really fun!," i think about how i have to deal with people like this all the time.

"Sub-sandwiches are fairly complex to style, they are essentially elaborate models that want to die quickly and require structural engineering to stay together. The camera has a more critical point of view than the hungry customer. I can make a stand-in the day before for lighting, under the direction of the Subway representative, but Hero stand-in will need to be made day of and if necessary followed by another Hero for back-up. Since it is organic, each sandwich will present to camera slightly differently. There is a very limited window of time on the cheese before it is no longer hero. The melted cheese will happen on set. If the team is communicating well, and the project has been well anticipated, all should go smoothly."

next week it will all be behind me.

A call for help

Sounds like a metaphor for something else. What is she REALLY trying to tell you?
