first we talked about how delicious it would be to bbq up some mussels and chorizo, and then we went and did it...|
my dear friends beth and senon came to visit.
they brought with them this little bean who goes by the name of cypress. you can't tell here but he smiles ALL THE TIME.
feasts have become quite commonplace around ours. this particular one consisted of those mussels, some noble rot-inspired mac and cheese, fancy sausages, larry salad, some cabbagey thing that mark made, sangria, and, um, maybe that was it. there was more but we got full and couldn't move and therefore never got around to cooking it.
after dinner we all cuddled in my bed and watched a documentary that was made about senon's band, dengue fever, touring thru cambodia. it was quite heartwarming and hopefully someday you all will be able to see it, too. in the meantime, new yarkers can see dengue fever next weekend while standing in the mccarren park swimming pool.
last nite we hiked in the woods behind my cousin's house in marin and had conversations with a talkative, young owl. onward to the warm embrace of the central valley tomorrow. it's been a long time, a real long time...
